Pharmacy First UTI Treatment for Women
If you are experiencing symptoms of a urinary tract infection (UTI), Razi Meds Pharmacy can help. Through the NHS Pharmacy First service, eligible patients can access timely assessment and treatment without needing to book a GP appointment.

What this service is for
This service supports women presenting with symptoms of an uncomplicated UTI, such as pain or burning when passing urine, increased frequency or urgency, or cloudy urine. Our pharmacists can assess your symptoms and, where clinically appropriate, provide treatment under the NHS.
Who it’s for
The service is available to non-pregnant women aged 16 to 64 with symptoms of an uncomplicated UTI. It is not suitable for men, pregnant women, or individuals with recurrent, severe, or complex urinary symptoms. Where necessary, you may be referred to your GP or another appropriate healthcare service.

How it works
You will have a short, confidential consultation with one of our pharmacists to assess your symptoms and exclude any warning signs. If suitable, you may be supplied with NHS treatment, such as antibiotics, or given self-care advice and recommendations for over-the-counter options.
What to expect
Most uncomplicated UTIs respond quickly to appropriate treatment, with improvement often seen within 24 to 48 hours. If antibiotics are prescribed, it is important to complete the full course as directed. If your symptoms do not improve, worsen, or return, further assessment may be required and you should seek additional medical advice.
